Mobile Ultrasound
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
You will need a doctor’s referral for all diagnostic ultrasounds except for the full-body ultrasound service which is a specialized assessment offered by our own doctors.
Can I get an ultrasound without a prescription?
Only our whole-body ultrasound does not require a referral. For the rest, your physician must give you a prescription for a diagnostic scan and a radiologist-signed report is sent directly to them.
Can I cancel my appointment after booking?

 

Yes. You may cancel your appointment, but refunds depend on the timing of your cancellation:
– More than 72 hours before the exam: 50% refund of the amount paid.
– Less than 72 hours before the exam: no refund is issued.
This policy ensures that we can efficiently manage our mobile service schedule and offer access to other patients.

Can I reschedule my appointment?

Yes, under the following conditions:
– You may reschedule your appointment once, provided it is more than 72 hours before the exam.
– Rescheduling is not allowed within 72 hours of the appointment.

What if I paid using Affirm or a payment plan?

– If you selected Affirm, a small non-refundable deposit was required at booking.
– Full payment through Affirm must be completed at least 72 hours before the appointment.
– If the appointment is within 72 hours, full payment must be made within 4 hours of booking.
– If payment is not received in time:
  – The appointment will be automatically cancelled.
  – The deposit is non-refundable.

What if I book using AFFIRM outside business hours (evenings/weekends)?

Your time slot will be temporarily held, but:
– If payment is not received within the deadline (4–72 hours),
– The appointment will be manually cancelled by our team when we return, with no guarantee of rebooking the same slot.

How do I cancel or reschedule my appointment?

– Log in to your patient portal using the link in your confirmation email.
– You can cancel or modify your appointment according to the policy.

What happens if I don’t show up to my appointment?

– “No-shows” are not eligible for refunds.
– A new payment will be required to book another appointment.

How long does a visit take?
Between 20- and 50-minutes total depending on your exam.

Is your service available for kids?
Absolutely.
What is the whole-body ultrasound assessment?

It’s a full, head-to-toe ultrasound scan designed for early diagnosis and detection. Over 60 different structures/organs are assessed. You receive a clear summary indicating if everything looks normal, if follow-up is recommended, or if something needs urgent attention. See our services page for more detail

How do I book an appointment?
You can book directly through our website in under 2 minutes. Choose your scan, time, and location — we handle the rest. If you need assistance to book, you can call us directly!
Is it covered by insurance?
It can be. If ordered by a doctor, your ultrasound can be covered by your insurance plan. It can also be claimed in your tax filing as a health expense. Consult your insurer or accountant.
Areas of operation
We currently serve the Greater Montreal Area including Laval, Longueuil, South Shore, West Island. If you’re unsure whether you’re in our zone, contact us — we may still be able to come.
Is the truck moving during my exam?
Is the truck moving during my exam? No. The truck is fully stationary during the whole duration of your visit and parked safely.
Will there be any signage or logos on your vehicle?
No. Our visits are fully discreet — our vehicles are black, unmarked, and our staff is trained for discretion.
Is there a bathroom in the truck?
Yes, a bathroom is available onboard, however it is reserved to be used during specific pelvic exams only.
Is the truck heated/ventilated?
Yes absolutely. You will be comfortable in all seasons. 
What about privacy and safety?
All exams are done in the private environment of our ultrasound trucks equipped with all the necessary diagnostic and disinfection machines
Is mobile ultrasound safe?
Absolutely. Ultrasound uses sound waves — no radiation — making it one of the safest imaging tools available. It’s safe for all ages, including during pregnancy.
Is your equipment hospital-grade?

Yes. We use state-of-the-art, FDA- and Health Canada-approved diagnostic ultrasound machines, the same technology trusted in leading hospitals and clinics.

Who will perform my exam?

Trusted professionals. All scans are performed by board-certified radiologists or OTIMROEPMQ-certified technicians supervised by radiologists. All images are reviewed and reports issued by certified radiologists.

When will I get results?
You’ll get results within 24 hours. If a physician requested the scan, we’ll send results directly to their office. The results will also be added to your portal.
What if I need further investigation?
Some diagnostic situations may benefit from in-hospital tests or other diagnostic imagery. If so, we recommend and assist your referral—some tests or follow-ups can be done at Radiomedic.
Do you contact my doctor directly?
If you were referred by a physician, yes — they will receive your report. Otherwise, you’ll receive it first and can choose how to proceed.
